Definition

Breathing the throttle-- a slight lift of the throttle to hold the car's speed and stop or slow acceleration, or to slightly reduce vehicle speed. As a driving technique, this would typically be used to transition into corner which did not need braking, but could not be taken at full throttle. However, the term applies to any situation which required a slight throttle lift.
